🚌 “Meet Your Bus Driver” Event – August 7 & 8

As we prepare for the 2025–2026 school year, the SCS Transportation team is excited to host a “Meet Your Bus Driver” event at all elementary and middle schools.

This event offers students, families, and school staff the opportunity to meet their assigned bus drivers and ask questions about routes, safety, and expectations prior to the first day of school.

🕒 Event Times:
• Elementary Schools: August 7 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Middle Schools: August 8 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

This initiative helps build strong relationships, ease first-day nerves, and support a safe and informed start to the school year. Thank you for helping us spread the word and supporting our Transportation team as they prepare for a smooth ride into the new school year! 🚌💛

🚌 BUS ROUTE INFORMATION

Starting today, July 23, families can log in to the Focus Parent Portal to view school bus transportation details for the 2025–2026 school year.

If your student has not been assigned bus transportation by Friday, August 1, please submit a Transportation Support Ticket at:
www.sarasotacountyschools.net/o/scs/page/transportation

Important reminders:
• Bus numbers and route assignments may change before the first day of school on Monday, August 11. Be sure to check back in the days leading up to the start of school to confirm your student’s information.
• The WherestheBus App will begin updating with student transportation data on Sunday, August 4. No information will be available in the app before that date.

: Think you know the rules of the road when it comes to school buses? Consider this: On a highway divided by a paved median, all drivers moving in EITHER direction must stop for a school bus displaying a stop signal, and must remain stopped until the road is clear of children AND the school bus stop arm is withdrawn. On a highway divided by a raised barrier or an unpaved median at least 5 feet wide, drivers moving in the opposite direction do not have to stop for the bus (painted lines or pavement markings are not considered barriers). However, these motorists should slow down and watch for students loading or unloading from the bus! Bottom line: SLOW down and be prepared to stop for little ones no matter which direction you're headed!
