Spring, Summer & Autumn excursions include the Mountaineer (over Crawford Notch) and the Valley train. Conway Scenic Railroad opened as a tourist railroad in August of 1974. Its 1874 Boston & Maine station and surrounding property remain a North Conway Village icon, and all excursions depart from this location. Conway Scenic offers a variety of excursions depending on the season. From late Spring

to November consider taking a supremely scenic journey over Crawford Notch aboard our Mountaineer. Or step back in time and experience a 1-hour classic train travel aboard our Valley train to Conway; or enjoy a longer heritage journey to Sawyers River. Heritage trains run April through November. Holiday Specials and Snow Trains operate during the Winter. All trains feature a variety of railcars and offer a choice of seating including elevated seating in Vista Domes that provide panoramic views. Seating options include Coach, First Class, and Budd Vista Domes depending on the excursion. In coach class on trains to Conway and Sawyer River passengers may bring one small well-behaved dog. Except for service animals, dogs are not permitted in First or Premium class accommodation.

Since 1974, the Valley Train has offered family-friendly railroad excursions over the historic Boston & Maine Conway Branch.
Valley Train excursions operate Saturdays and Sundays, and daily beginning May 23.

Trains depart from the historic station in North Conway, New Hampshire, located in the heart of North Conway Village.

On April 4th and 5th, 2026, Conway Scenic Railroad will host its annual Easter Bunny Express excursion trains!

A perfect excursion for families! Travel on a classic 20th century passenger. On board entertainment will include a cast of characters including the Easter Bunny himself! Young travelers will be offered a special seasonal treat and enjoy photo opportunities in the Easter-decorated rail cars.

Wintery scenes from along Conway Scenic Railroad! We will be running daily over President's Week from February 14th to 22nd, and weekend into March. Winter excursion choices include: hour-long Snow Train trips on the Conway Branch and the 4.5-hour run over Crawford Notch! The railroad runs over Crawford in the winter? YES we do!
