Applications are now open for Carnival Cruise Line’s second annual paid summer internship program for high school students!

This eight-week paid summer program is designed for high school students aged 17+ who will work directly with the guest port services team to learn the inner workings of cruise terminal operations. They will get a behind-the-scenes look at how Carnival’s cruise operations run at the port while building real-world skills and exploring careers in travel and hospitality.

The program runs from June through August. Spots are limited, and applications are open now through June 8, 2026.

🚢 Sailing out of Norfolk on the Carnival Sunshine this Saturday, April 18? Here’s everything you need to know before you go! ⚓️

Due to the Norfolk NATO Festival happening this weekend (a great thing to enjoy before or after your cruise 🎉), please follow the directions below to ensure a smooth and easy arrival on embarkation day of 4/18/26:

For Passengers parking vehicles at Cedar Grove Parking Lot
-Take I-264 to exit for E. Brambleton Ave – go approx. 1 mile
-Turn RIGHT onto St. Paul’s Blvd. – follow directly to Cedar Grove Lot
-Cedar Grove Lot is on the RIGHT – 1000 Monticello Ave., Norfolk

For Passengers being dropped off by private vehicle/taxi/Uber/Lyft at the Cruise Terminal
-Take I-264 to exit #10 for City Hall Ave.
-Turn RIGHT at the bottom of the ramp onto St. Paul’s Blvd – go approx. 1 mile
-Turn LEFT on Virginia Beach Blvd.
-Turn LEFT on Boush St. – go approx. 1 mile
-Turn RIGHT at Main St. into Nauticus & Cruise Terminal – Officers will provide drop-off directions

For ADA Passengers being dropped off at the Cruise Terminal
-Take I-264 to exit #10 for City Hall Ave.
-Turn RIGHT at the bottom of the ramp onto St. Paul’s Blvd – go approx. 1 mile
-Turn LEFT on Virginia Beach Blvd.
-Turn LEFT on Boush St. – go approx. 1 mile
-Turn RIGHT at Main St. into Nauticus & Cruise Terminal – Officers will provide direction to the LEFT closest to the Terminal

✨ Pro tip: Give yourself extra time for arrival and follow posted signage once you’re downtown.

This team deserves the title Customer Service Superstars! They cheer for passengers as they board the ship; yes…Norfolk cruise passengers get their own cheer squad! 😊

Recently, during a modified operation, this small-but-mighty team assisted over 3,000 passengers in manually boarding the Carnival Sunshine. With dedication to teamwork and excellence, the Sunshine EZ Board Team allows no obstacle to stand in their way of providing great customer service to passengers!

Carnival passengers who park their cars at Norfolk's Cedar Grove Lot are in GREAT hands! 🙂

These outstanding Norfolk Sheriffs' Deputies: Tim, Jody & Brandon, provide 24/7 security & excellent customer service weekly, and in ALL weather conditions!

A very grateful passenger shared this story about the Cedar Grove A-Team: "I wish I could give this lot 10 STARS!!! I've used (Cedar Grove) three times for week-long cruises. On the most recent visit, I left my window down. (This team) saw this mistake and thoroughly taped up my window. There were heavy storms while I was away and they saved me thousands of dollars of damage with this THOUGHTFUL ACT!"
