Boat club or boat rental—which costs less if you’re a casual boater?
If you only plan to boat a few times a year, renting may be less expensive overall. You pay when you go, without monthly membership dues.
A boat club has an upfront joining fee and ongoing dues, so it may make more sense if you plan to get out on the water regularly. Members also get training, access to a fleet, and a boat that’s maintained and cleaned by the club. Fuel and any applicable fees should be included in your comparison.
The right choice depends on how often you’ll go and what matters most to you. Contact Freedom Boat Club of Hampton Roads to compare membership options and costs.
