NNFD Local 794 is hosting what was once FDNY Rescue Company 4. The Rescue now travels the country with the Rememberance Rescue Project and will be in Hampton Roads for a few weeks.

Engine 10 ( A shift ) with fire showing from side alpha. It was reported that two children were possibly inside. Engine 10 and Rescue 2 made quick work of the fire while completing primary and secondary searches. Both searches were negative.

Working fire (A shift) on Tuesday morning in the 600 block of 35th Street. Engine company 2 was on scene within minutes to find a 1 story wood frame with fire showing from side alpha. The fire was knocked quickly.

Hats off to the two sailors who pulled out the elderly resident just prior to the first due engine's arrival.

Two local Sailors rescued a woman from a burning home in the Southeast Community of Newport News Tuesday morning.

On Friday June 20th, both Rescue Companies as well as Tech 10 worked diligently to extricate a driver who was severely pinned in an overturned tractor trailer. Engine companies from 4 and 5 assisted with extrication efforts as well as assisting with setting up a landing zone on Interstate 64. Job well done by all responding companies.

The downtown battalion went to work last night extinguishing an apartment fire on the 2nd floor at Waterfront Circle. Multiple civilians were able to escape with the help of the responding companies.

Squad 6 and Hazmat 1 (A shift) responded mutual aid to assist York County yesterday with this incident. The hazmat team worked diligently to contain the oil and fuel that had leaked when the tanks ruptured.
