Construction on High Street is making great progress! Earlier this week, a topping off ceremony was held, signifying the final steel beam being installed into the structure of the new RLS Logistics headquarters in Glassboro, NJ. Our team was able to sign the beam before its installation.

The new RLS building features second-floor corporate offices, with prime ground-floor retail/commercial space available for lease. We are very excited to see the final results of the construction and look forward to continuing our tenure in this great community.

The Supreme Court just changed the rules for freight brokers — and shippers need to pay attention.

On May 14, 2026, in Montgomery v. Caribe Transport II, the Court ruled unanimously that freight brokers can be held liable under state tort law for negligently hiring unsafe carriers. That means the broker you choose is no longer just a cost decision — it's a risk decision.

The Wall Street Journal reported this week that the Trump administration is preparing to suspend the tariff rate quota on beef imports across all exporting nations. A 200 day window aimed at cooling record domestic prices and offsetting a U.S. cattle herd at a 75 year low.

The executive orders were paused for fine tuning, but the market signal is unmistakable. USDA already projects a record 5.8 billion pounds of imported beef in 2026, up about 25% from 2024. Every pound of that imported beef has to clear USDA food safety inspection before it enters U.S. commerce.

RLS Logistics operates a USDA certified Import Inspection facility in Newfield, NJ, 40 minutes from the Port of Philadelphia, and offers cold storage, dock capacity, and an inspection workflow already in place. RLS Logistics is excited to welcome Darian Spivey to the team as our new Weekend Customer Service Representative in Delanco, NJ!

Darian comes from a trucking background after working in the group home field with developmentally disabled kids and adults. After getting into trucking, he worked for a couple of companies and then started his own, Spivey Transportation, named in honor of his deceased father and grandmother. It was very successful until he sold it. Now he is returning to the office side of things and thriving through that.
