My, what rough legs you have! A Rough-legged Hawk stopped in to briefly perch near the Hawk Deck, showcasing its namesake feathered legs. These feathers keep the birds extra warm on the freezing tundra.

Ahh, sprinter! It's that time of year when it's not completely winter but it's not quite spring and none of us know how to dress! πŸ©³πŸ§£πŸŒ‚

For a visit to the Upper Falls, we advise packing ice cleats if you have them. Rangers are spreading sand on slick spots, but the extra traction will go a long way. Other trails are still under 30+ inches of snow, so snowshoes (or cross-country skis) are needed.

Check the weather, dress in layers, be prepared to penguin walk, and we'll see you outside!
