Diana Edelman AKA Vegans, Baby

Diana Edelman AKA Vegans, Baby I'm Diana Edelman, freelance journalist, TV personality, and one of the most trusted voices in vegan travel.

📍NYC 🌱 Custom vegan travel planner and advisor 🌱 Award-winning plant-based travel + food curator 🏆 2025 Beard judge 📺 TV host 🌱 Vegan travel, food and life 📧[email protected] I quit my PR career to backpack solo through Europe and Africa, worked in elephant conservation in Thailand, then landed in Las Vegas where I accidentally became the city's go-to vegan food authority. I curated plant-based

dinners at the James Beard House, ran the plant-based activation at Life is Beautiful, and created Vegan Dining Month (2018 to 2024), the first large-scale vegan dining celebration in the US. I'm regularly on TV sharing vegan tips, speak at conferences on tourism and vegan living, and served as a James Beard Judge in 2025. I also curated a Climate Week event with Al Gore in the room, because life is unexpected and wonderful. Vegans, Baby is where I share everything I know about vegan travel.

I posted a month ago about my upcoming award-winning vegan trip to South Africa March 7 - 16, 2027. I know there was a lot of interest. There are only 2 ROOMS LEFT.

Come join what Newsweek called "a trip worth the wait" (2022) and be a part of one of the top 5 vegan African safaris (so says PETA).

This trip has my heart, and for this third time, I gave it a refresh with a more intersectional vegan lens. So, yes, the trip is fully vegan, but it also focuses on the impact apartheid had on communities and equality, as well as the importance of conservation, slowing climate change, and sustainability.

And, of course, if you're a foodie, this is THE foodie experience you'll be talking about forever. There's a 14-dish Pan-African welcome dinner, a multi-course meal with fresh kelp from the ocean in every dish, an extravagant dinner at one of the top 50 restaurants in the world, and a safari filled with incredible plant-based meals and magical experiences.

I could talk about how much I love this itinerary forever, and how going on safari will CHANGE YOUR LIFE, but instead, I'm just going to request if you'd like information to comment below and I'll send you the link!

Got questions? Drop them below. And, share this with someone who would love to come. Spaces close in two weeks.

South Africa has a way of getting under your skin. I've been three times and its always on my mind.

My award-winning Vegan South Africa Tour is back, March 7-16, 2027 and I'd love to have you! This time around, it's filtered through more of an intersection vegan lens, which means you get the best of what was previously on the trip plus more insight into the country through ethical, community-focused experiences.

5 nights in Cape Town includes:
⛰️ Table Mountain and the epic views
🫶 2 ethical experiences in the townships to learn about community empowerment, arts and more
🍷 a vegan wine tasting at the first Black-owned vineyard in the country
🪸 a private beach-side lunch with a local chef featuring freshly harvest kelp directly from the ocean waters there
🍄 a private foraging session
🍽️ an extravagant vegan multi-coursed dinner at one of the top 50 restaurants in the world

AND, 4 nights at Shamwari Prviate Game Reserve, a Michelin Key holder (and one of my most favorite places on Earth) that includes:
🌱 all-inclusive food and drinks (excluding premium alcohol)
🐾 multiple daily game drives, plus a game walk with expert guides
🐆 visit to the on-site Born Free big cat sanctuary and the reserve's wildlife rehab center

But, there's even more!

Only 12 spaces are available for this trip. To learn more, visit: https://vegansbaby.com/travel/ethical-safari-tour-2027/

The other day I saw a couple sharing a "safari" they went on and my jaw-dropped. It's 2026 and people are still promoting walking with lions, petting cubs, feeding these animals. It sounds adorable and fun, but the underbelly of these experiences is anything but. I've worked in responsible animal tourism for more than a decade now, and I can promise you, if you're doing any of these things, you're contributing to some seriously bad stuff. The link is in the first comment bc Meta hates all of us.

AI can so a lot of things ... but using it to plan your travel is prob a bad idea.

AI travel planning sounds like a shortcut. For vegan travelers, it can mean confidently wrong restaurant picks, nonexistent hotels, and a lot of hungry moments. Learn more about the research and options for vegan travel planning.
