141N-20CSM is a non-magnetic, wideband hand-flex cable operation from DC to 18 GHz. This model is ideal for cryogenic environment applications, test and measurement, high-speed data systems, instrumentation and more. The outer shield is a tin-soaked, silver-plated copper braid which minimizes signal leakage while remaining flexible for easy bending. Connectors have passivated stainless-steel coupling nuts over a gold-plated connector bodies and gold plated, brass center conductors.

In this application note, we examine a wireless router used to transmit a Wi-Fi signal in the 5 GHz band and describe a practical way to characterize the RF channel performance while reducing the overall cost of testing. The method presented uses an RF signal generator at the input of the RF channel to act as a stimulus and an RF peak and average power sensor at the RF channel output to measure the response. When a real ‘live’ Wi-Fi test signal is not available, the typical time domain properties of a Wi-Fi waveform can be mimicked using the “dynamic pulse modulation” option of a Mini-Circuits RF signal generator. Other useful measurement settings, including time domain profile analysis are also discussed.

Internal DC-DC conversion circuitry maintains constant efficiency over the full input voltage range.
