Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogotá

One of Bogotá’s most distinctive luxury stays — and a Four Seasons with a personality all its own.

Set in a historic 1946 building in Zona G, Casa Medina feels far more like an intimate boutique hotel than a conventional city property. Stained glass, dark wood, fireplaces, rugs, artwork and lush greenery give the hotel a sense of character that remains remarkably intact.

During our stay, we were upgraded to an Executive Suite with Fireplace, enjoyed Preferred Partner breakfast in-room, explored Castanyoles and spent time at The Boulevardier — an intimate bar that quickly became one of the highlights of the stay.

With only 62 rooms and suites, no two rooms are quite alike, making room selection particularly important here.

Some hotels are beautiful. Others have a story.

Opened in 1891, Reid’s Palace has welcomed generations of travelers to its pink palace overlooking the Atlantic. More than 130 years later, it remains remarkably true to its character — from its historic interiors and afternoon tea tradition to its subtropical gardens and sea-level pool.

During our stay, we experienced both the historic and newer wings, enjoyed one of the hotel’s exceptional Junior Suites, explored the gardens and spent time by the Atlantic.

There is something wonderfully old-world about Reid’s Palace. It doesn’t try to reinvent itself or chase trends. It simply remains what it has always been: a grand European hotel with a story worth experiencing.

And yes, Winston Churchill stayed here in 1950.
