Embracing the unique quirks of Serengeti's tallest residents! Who knew giraffes had such an awkward drinking technique?

Watching them splay their legs and necks to reach the water is a true testament to adaptability in the animal kingdom. I guess being the tallest mammals on Earth comes with some awkward perks...When life gives you long legs and a towering neck, you master the art of sipping water with style! 🦒🚰

The Masai giraffe is well-adapted to the savannah and woodland habitats of the Serengeti, where it feeds on leaves from acacia and other tall trees. The Masai giraffe is easily distinguishable by its irregular, jagged, and oak leaf-shaped spots on its coat. It also has a more orange-colored pattern compared to other subspecies.

Competing in a jumping contest yesterday made me realize two things:
One: My vertical leap needs a lot of work, but I also have the heart of a champion.
Two: Going well outside of my comfort zone, I will forever be remembered as the one who gifted the tribe a “giraffe’s view” of the 7th youngest sibling (wearing the ♠️♣️ garment on the left) jumping higher than his oldest brother (with a bit of help from DJI, naturally) 🚁🇰🇪

Channeling my inner Masai warrior during a jumping competition in a Masai Mara village! All are invited to jump, and only the elite jumpers make it to the next round. Turns out, my vertical leap is pretty impressive…for a 2 year old 😌
To prove their strength + maturity, the Masai warriors jump in the air as a part of their traditional dance. The higher the men jump, the stronger they are + receive more respect and admiration from the women in their tribe 🇰🇪
