🏙️ Rooftops, parking lots, parks, commercial areas: where can energy actually be generated in urban settings? The answer is not “everywhere.” A good location must meet several criteria: a sufficient energy resource, available space, nearby land uses, and seamless integration into its surroundings.

For urban wind power, it’s particularly important to consider wind exposure and the turbulence created by buildings. That’s why two sites just a few kilometers apart can have very different potentials. At New World Wind, site assessment comes before selecting the installation. 🌬️⚡

But keep in mind: an Aeroleaf doesn’t produce 300 W all the time. Actual power output depends on local wind conditions. That’s precisely why, when sizing a system, the number that really matters is the estimated annual power output in kWh. 🌬️🌳

💰 What is the ROI of our WindTree systems? There is no one-size-fits-all figure. And that’s a good thing. The return on investment depends on several factors:

🌬️ the site’s wind resource
⚡ the installation’s actual output
💶 the price of the electricity saved
🔧 installation and maintenance costs
🏢 the building’s energy requirements

🌬️ 2.5 m/s. Why is this number significant? This is the wind speed at which the Aeroleaf begins to generate electricity. 👉 2.5 m/s = 9 km/h. This is particularly useful for harnessing light, irregular, or turbulent winds, especially near buildings.

Of course, starting to generate electricity doesn’t mean generating at full capacity: output depends on site conditions. But that’s precisely the goal: to harness the wind as soon as it’s available.
