San Francisco è l’ultima tappa del nostro viaggio.
E l’ultimo giorno ha sempre quel mood un po’ strano. Quella leggera malinconia da pre-rientro, quando inizi a renderti conto che il viaggio sta davvero finendo.
È anche per questo che, quando ho costruito questo itinerario, ho deciso di lasciare proprio all’ultimo giorno una delle esperienze più belle: attraversare San Francisco in bicicletta, arrivare fino al Golden Gate e poi proseguire dall’altra parte della baia.
Un’ultima grande esperienza di viaggio.
E forse la cosa che mi piace di più è che la sua bellezza, spesso, è del tutto inaspettata.
Perché magari parti pensando semplicemente a un giro in bici.
E invece ti ritrovi a pensare che non poteva esserci modo migliore per salutare San Francisco.
E questo viaggio.
San Francisco is the final stop of our journey.
And there’s always something about the last day. That slightly bittersweet pre-departure feeling, when you start realizing that the journey is really coming to an end.
That’s also why, when I designed this itinerary, I decided to save one of its best experiences for the very last day: exploring San Francisco by bike, riding all the way to the Golden Gate and continuing across the bay.
One last great travel experience.
And perhaps what I love most about it is how unexpectedly beautiful it can be.
You set off thinking it’s simply going to be a bike ride.
And you end up realizing there probably couldn’t be a better way to say goodbye to San Francisco.
And to this journey.
