Day 475, the End of the Road. After 475 days on the move, our journey — across oceans, continents, and polar ice — has come to an end.

Today isn’t just another day. It’s a marker of what we've achieved: 92,500 kilometers traveled by land and sea, across five continents, through 42 countries. What started as a bold idea became a lived reality — with tire tracks and wake lines stretching from the Geographic North Pole to the South Pole.

We’ve driven through extremes: from -50°C Arctic ice to sweltering deserts. We’ve faced crevasses, customs checkpoints, breakdowns, storms, and the simple wear of the road. And through it all, we kept moving forward.

On Day 476 of the Expedition, we arrived at the Explorers Club in New York City — the very place where we held our kick-off event on January 9th, 2024. Following tradition, we were presented with the club’s flag, which we pledged to carry with us along our entire route and, as custom dictates, to return to the Club at the end of our journey.

During our visit, we met with a club member, provided a brief update on our expedition, and honored the tradition by returning the flag. We also presented the expedition at the Classic Car Club Manhattan.

There’s no dramatic final push — just a quiet satisfaction in knowing we made it. The mission is complete, but the impact is just beginning.

Tomorrow, the vehicles will rest. But the stories, data, and lessons we’ve gathered will keep travelling — to classrooms, labs, archives, and maybe even into someone else’s dream of going farther.

It’s the end of the road.
And the start of something new.

On Day 473, our nearly 16-month adventure is coming to an end.

The American group reached Washington this day, enjoyed a walk around the city, and caught a glimpse of the White House.

The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum was a very appropriate place to stop on the final day of our travels on the Transglobal Car Expedition. Inside, examples of so many ways humankind has challenged itself to go further, farther, and faster with machines. Our expedition is a very small part of the same ethic, but we find ourselves just as inspired, even as this expedition is finishing, to keep exploring.

The team covered 380 km.

On Day 474 at 11 PM New York time, the Transglobal Car Expedition team reunited at Times Square. The driving portion of the expedition is complete. We traveled 367 km this day.

On Day 468, the American team visited the Houston Space Center and was impressed by a Boeing 747 with a shuttle attached. They watched a film on the U.S. space exploration history, covering both achievements and tragedies. In the evening, the team arrived in New Orleans after driving 600 km.

Days 469-470 flew by, we drove past Riverside, Alabama and ended up in Atlanta covering 975 km in two days, enjoying beautiful roads.

On Day 471, we camped in a wooden house in the woods, equipped with a pool table and arcade games — a perfect getaway after a mentally exhausting day.
We drove 320 km that day.

On Day 472, after leaving the campsite, we stumbled upon a cemetery of Tennessee cars on a side road. The impressive cars date back to the 1960s and earlier, showcasing the elegance of the past. We covered 403 km.

The Transglobal Car Expedition is a pioneering initiative dedicated to circumnavigating the Earth, passing through both the geographic North and South Poles. The expedition encompasses human adventure, technological innovation, scientific data collection, and educational media initiatives. This remarkable journey is driven by a passion for discovery and the collective commitment to make local and scientific communities benefit from its passage.

The expedition made a meaningful contribution to sustainability and scientific knowledge by collecting in-field data along the way, from pioneering measurements of the polar ice caps to the very first detection of cosmic rays at the geographic North Pole, using the open hardware design of Cosmic Pi assembled at CERN’s IdeaSquare, on its vehicles.
