Drost Farms Drost Farms is a family operation that owns, rents, and crop shares land in Mahaska Co. IA.

We grow corn, soybeans, hay, alfalfa, oats, and do custom farm work including fertilizer applications, spraying, planting, harvesting, trucking, and management.

When people see tanks in the field this time of year, it can raise questions if you’re not around farming every day. Anhydrous ammonia is a form of nitrogen — a nutrient corn needs to grow. It’s placed several inches below the soil where plant roots can reach it.
