Celebration In The Oaks is in full swing ! Tonight, guest were treated to a Live Steam model demonstration. This model uses real coal to create heat to make steam ! What a wonderful night to take in the smell of what steam railroading is like ! Hundreds of guest were awe struck when they saw this demonstration.

Do you know Louisiana has an actual steam locomotive? Help our friends @ the Louisiana Steam Train Association rebuild this old steam locomotive! She was built in 1921 in Algiers ,Louisiana. She is dubbed the “ Spirit Of Louisiana “ !

Did you know we have an actual model coal fired live steam engine at the New Orleans Historic Train Garden @ City Park ? Come stop by any day that we are open and you just might see our volunteers running the coal fired steam engine! Come witness the volunteers shoveling coal in the firebox and see the bright orange glow in the firebox! We are open Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 10 AM -3 PM . We are also open Wednesday evenings from 5 PM- 8 PM for the kitchen in the garden event .
