Through all these years of ownership, the company has remained in our family -- one that has a legacy of over 80 years experience in the New Orleans sightseeing industry. The fact that Royal Carriages is a family-run business is one reason why we are the oldest continually-operating sightseeing carriage company in America. All our mules receive at least 3 months of vacation per year on a lovely farm in the Mississippi and Louisiana countryside. We usually stable about 34 mules here in the city and the balance are kept on pasture. If we treat our animals this good, you can imagine how well we'll treat you! Meet Charles and Jim the mule! Charles is a native of New Orleans. Growing up just a few miles from our barn.
He’s also been with the company for over 20 years!!
Jim the mule is one of our newer mules. And came to us with the name. Jim is a little shy being in the big city of New Orleans. So don’t worry if you stop by and say hi and Jim avoids eye contact. He’ll scoot over for a pet if you’re patient.

Come say hi to Charles and Jim on our night shift.
