Before we turn the page on today’s Krewe des Cloches adventure, I realized I never shared the last one. And this one deserves its moment. đŸ”„đŸŽ„

The assignment was Christmas in July.

And somewhere along the way, PK took one look at the combination of New Orleans summer + Christmas + this particular group of women and came up with:

HOT AS BELLES.

Obviously, there was no going back. 😂

So we traded ugly Christmas sweaters for something a little more appropriate for July, turned up the heat on the holidays, and gave Christmas the Krewe des Cloches treatment.

There were cocktails. There were Belles. There was absolutely nothing remotely resembling a silent night.

And today?

We’re doing it all over again—with an entirely new story.

More on that later so stay tuned... đŸ„‚đŸŠą

Most people see Virtuoso Travel Week as a conference.

I see it differently.

Earlier this week, in Swan’s Compass I wrote that Las Vegas is the city I never choose...but never skip.

This is why.

For one week each year, thousands of conversations take place between luxury hotels, cruise lines, destination specialists, tourism boards, and travel advisors from around the world.

On the surface, VTW looks like a trade show packed with appointments, lunches, and a very full calendar of nonstop cocktail parties.

But the most important moments rarely appear on the agenda.

They’re the conversations that build trust.

The relationships that deepen over time.

The introductions that eventually become extraordinary welcomes.

The discoveries that quietly shape the stories we’ll write for our clients in the months and years ahead.

This is why we go.

Not to collect brochures.

To collect people.

Not to discover everything.

To discover what belongs.

Over the next week, we’ll be listening, learning, asking questions, and bringing fresh ideas home.

Because what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas.

It becomes part of your story.

People often assume working with a luxury travel advisor means better hotels, exclusive access, and VIP amenities.

And it does.

But the greatest luxury isn’t found in a reservation.

It’s found in the possibilities you never knew existed...

the relationships already working quietly on your behalf...

and the freedom to be completely present while your story unfolds.

That’s what changes when you work with Filling the Nest.

Imagine Your Story. 🩱

People often ask what makes Filling the Nest different.

The answer isn’t a preferred hotel.

Or a destination.

Or even a perfectly planned itinerary.

It’s the philosophy behind every decision we make.

At Filling the Nest, we believe extraordinary travel is designed with intention.

Every recommendation should have a purpose.

Every destination should reveal something.

Every hotel should feel like it belongs.

Every experience should move the story forward.

Because beautiful travel isn’t created by collecting reservations.

It’s created by making thousands of thoughtful decisions—most of which you’ll never even notice.

That’s Design House.

It’s the philosophy behind every story we design.

Over the past several months (years), many of you have followed along as we’ve slowly reimagined our home.

It reminded me that the places we live have stories to tell, too.

So beginning with our next issue of Swan’s Compass, we’re opening the doors to something new.

Rooms Rewritten is a new recurring editorial series exploring the rooms we love, the stories they hold, and the many ways travel quietly inspires the way we live at home.

We’ll begin with my favorite room in the house...

The Sunday Room.

I can’t wait to share it with you.

Sometimes the best travel stories begin with the most unexpected excuse.

When the NFL announced a regular-season game in Paris, most people started thinking about tickets.

We started thinking about something bigger.

A few leisurely days in one of the world’s greatest cities with a palace hotel as home base.

Private drivers on call.

The tables everyone else is trying to reserve.

Behind-the-scenes access at Art Basel Paris.

Cocktails in legendary hotel bars.

And then we thought bigger.

Why not add a few days in London before heading home?

Or time exploring the best caves in Champagne?

Or a quick journey on board the legendary Orient Express?

Or a blissful sailing down the Seine into history?

Because that’s how we believe extraordinary travel should be designed.

The event may be what gets you there.

Everything around it is what makes it unforgettable.

That’s the inspiration behind Saints & Savoir Faire, our latest feature in Sean’s Compass—a reminder that the most meaningful journeys are rarely built around a single reservation, a single destination, or a single reason for going.

They’re built around the moments most travelers never knew were possible.

If you’re crossing the Atlantic anyway

Come for the game. Stay for the story.

A JAYWALKERS STORY | Still Pouring After All These YearsđŸ·

Back in the early 80s, three boys became the best of friends. Somewhere along the way, wives joined in, lives merged, annual trips became a tradition, and “just one more glass” somehow turned into “just one more wine club.”

This year’s chapter of their ongoing travel story included hidden vineyards, cave tastings, brunch at Auberge, one surprisingly elevated chicken nugget, and enough laughs to make us almost forget how many cases of wine are now headed home.

Wine Country was one for the books!

Until the next JaycationđŸ’™âšœïž

P.S. The full Sonoma/Napa story is saved in my Story HighlightsđŸ„‚đŸ·
