FACILITIES: The Port’s facilities include 20 million square feet of cargo handling area and more than 3.1 million square feet of covered storage area and 1.7 million square feet of cruise and parking facilities. Port NOLA’s container facilities are located at its upriver terminals at the Napoleon

Avenue Container Terminal Complex, while breakbulk facilities are located upriver, downriver and on the Inner Harbor. The Port’s cruise terminals are located downriver at Julia and Erato Street. STATEWIDE ECONOMIC IMPACT: Maritime activity within the Port of New Orleans is responsible for 21,700 jobs, $4.3 billion of output and $76.8 million in state taxes. FEDERAL ECONOMIC IMPACT: An estimated 119,510 jobs in the U.S. are dependent on the cargo that is handled by the Port of New Orleans. Those jobs account for $29.8 billion of economic output. In addition the Port’s cargo and activity, generates $1.9 billion in annual federal tax revenue. TOP COMMODITIES: The Port of New Orleans is a diverse general cargo port, handling containerized cargo such as coffee, plastics, apparel, food products and consumer merchandise; and breakbulk cargo such as steel, non-ferrous metals, rubber, wood and paper. VESSEL CALLS: Weekly direct services to and from Asia, Europe, the Mediterranean, South America and Central America. OCEAN CARRIERS: Today we are served by all four major global container carrier alliances: 2M, Oceans Alliance, THE Alliance and ONE Network, as well as independent and niche services and more than 25 breakbulk and heavy-lift carriers. RAIL ACCESS: The Port of New Orleans is the only seaport in the U.S. served by six Class I railroads — BNSF, Canadian National, CSX, Kansas City Southern, Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific. FOREIGN TRADE ZONE: The Port operates defined areas where foreign merchandise may be brought into the United States without being immediately subject to the usual U.S. Customs regulations. VALUE-ADDED LOGISTICS HUB: Port NOLA’s diverse industrial real estate portfolio includes land and assets with access to rail, barge and truck. Our industrial tenants and partners provide value-added activities that support cargo growth such as warehousing, distribution, transloading, manufacturing, packaging and other activities.
