📣 Temporary FBO Schedule Changes – June & July 📣

Due to current staffing shortages and ongoing hiring/training efforts, Stanly County Airport’s FBO hours will be temporarily adjusted beginning June 1.

✈️ New Temporary FBO Hours:
🕗 Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
❌ Closed Saturdays & Sundays until further notice

⛽ Good news — self-serve AVGAS will remain available 24/7 for weekend fueling needs.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work through this transition and train new staff members. Our goal is to return to normal operating hours as soon as possible.

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our nation. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy each day, and their legacy will never be forgotten.

We also hold close the families who carry the weight of that loss long after the ceremonies end, the spouses, children, parents, friends, and loved ones whose lives were forever changed.

At Stanly County Airport, we honor not only those who served, but those who continue to carry their memory forward. May we never take their sacrifice for granted.

We remember them. Always.

We had some very special visitors at the airport today! 🍪✈️

Girl Scout Troop 1417 stopped by to deliver cookies to some very appreciative Airmen and Soldiers, and they definitely brought plenty of smiles with them. We always enjoy seeing young members of our community take the time to support those serving both locally and abroad.

Thank you, Troop 1417, for your kindness, generosity, and sweet treats, you made everyone’s day a little brighter at Stanly County Airport! 🇺🇸💚

🚁 Yes… we know there’s a helicopter with a giant chainsaw flying around the airport. 🌲😅

No, it’s not the start of a new action movie.
No, it does not pose a threat to society.

What you’re seeing is professional aerial tree trimming by Rotor Blade, LLC, a company that specializes in airborne vegetation management using MD 500 helicopters and (very real) multi-blade saw systems.

These setups use a suspended saw, sometimes with multiple blades—to safely and efficiently trim trees in hard-to-reach areas and keep airspace clear.

Basically… what would take ground crews days can be done in hours—from the sky.

Also… can we just take a moment to appreciate that someone’s job is literally:
👉 “fly a helicopter with a giant chainsaw attached to it”
Career goals? We think yes. 😎

✈️ Aviation inspiration at Stanly County Airport

These great shots were taken by Jaeden, a student at North Stanly Middle School who is absolutely passionate about aviation.

Jaeden often asks his mom to bring him out to Stanly County Airport so he can watch aircraft, learn more about aviation, and practice his photography. His excitement for everything that flies is exactly the kind of passion that fuels the future of aviation.

✈️🇺🇸 Rain or shine, aviation happens at Stanly County Airport.

Today we were proud to welcome Asheboro JROTC cadets out to KVUJ to experience aviation up close. Even with the rain, these cadets showed up motivated, curious, and ready to learn about aviation and the opportunities it offers.

It’s always an honor to help inspire the next generation of leaders and aviators.
