This customer wanted to lower the front end on his old school Freightliner. It turned out that his kingpins needed replaced on his old axle.
Instead of rebuilding the old one, we tracked down a new wide stance drop axle to install.

It has been a busy last couple of weeks in the shop!
The picture with 2 springs out of the truck is a comparison of the OEM 3 ply spring, and an aftermarket 2 ply spring. Both springs are rated for the same weight and the 2 ply is half of the cost for the same quality!
The 2 pictures of the old and new springs in the truck shows how fatigued/ de-arched the old spring was compared to the new.

We had a customer come in complaining of a terrible vibration. We found that the intermediate shaft angles were so far off because they installed the wrong springs on the rear drive axle. While replacing the springs we also found the axle seats were on backwards/ not sitting right due to someone patching the housing and not welding centering pins at the right spot. We also noticed the torque rods were sitting at an odd angle. The weldments on both of the drive axle housings and the torque rods ended up being completely wrong. After all the repairs the vibration was resolved!

This past week a customer brought in a 1908 Maxwell drive shaft. With a little bit of modification, we were able to upgrade him to a new style drive shaft!
