This morning our crew transported a pair of highlands for a client. Yes these coos were halter broke. Which made loading and unloading less stressful for the animals and our crew.

A new tax assessment passed by the Connecticut General Assembly could increase farmland taxes by 2–4 times what farms paid just last year. For farms like March Farm, this kind of sudden increase creates real strain and puts long-standing family farms at risk.

Our farm—and so many others—exist because of community support. The land you walk, pick on, and gather around matters. Please stand with local farms and help protect Connecticut farmland by signing this petition.

Our transport crew had an eventful morning. On their way to pick up a steer at Barden farm they pulled up on a motor vehicle accident on RT 219 in New Hartford. Our owner Adam being a firefighter in town immediately positioned our truck and empty trailer to provide protection to the car still in the lane of travel until fire trucks from both south end fire and New Hartford fire arrived on scene.
When Adam finally got to Barden Farm for the transport the crew assisted the Barden’s with getting a cold calf into the barn where it was able to be warmed up. Finally the crew got the steer from the Bardens to were the transport destination was

Accident turned out ok and the calf is up and doing great. Just another day in the life of a first responder and farm.

PSA! Remember folks when traveling next to a live stock trailer or behind one drive with caution. Just because you can’t see any animals on the trailer doesn’t mean it’s not loaded. These are live loads were hauling and we can not just slam on the breaks. Don’t tailgate us and fallow to close and don’t try passing when it’s not safe. Your impatient actions could potentially spook the animals cause them to move iradicly and potentially make us crash. You’re not only putting your life at risk by driving recklessly around us but the lives of the animals on our trailers and our lives.
So give us room and if you need to pass us wait until it’s a passing zone double lane and proceed with caution. Act like it’s your animals on that trailer.
