If you were born in the 80’s like me you know all about RPG games like Mario and Ninja Gaiden on the NES system to more advanced games like Final Fantasy on the Playstation, last but not least the computer RPG games like Diablo and World of Warcraft.

Why am I mentioning Role Playing Games?

It’s simple, anyone who’s played RPG games know that most of the time when you die you get a chance to redo your last save point and rarely do you make the same mistake, since you now have experience. Like Henry Ford knew 100 years ago failure is simply a chance to hit that restart button with the much needed experience you never had before.

Quote of the Day

Anyone who’s ever worked in sales probably knows this quote is true by experience. You have a bad day, week, maybe even a full month, or quarter. Then all of a sudden you have your best month in sales following all of that disappointment. The ones who don’t make it in sales, failed at that bad week and said maybe this isn’t for me. Because they gave up early they never got to experience that big win, nor will they ever know if sales was really meant for them.

If you’re in sales give this post a like and tell me about your big win.

15 Signs of a Toxic Workplace

8. Your opinion doesn't matter.

Have you ever seriously thought about a way to help your company grow, or help operations run smoothly only to be shut down completely or brushed off? I remember sharing many great ideas to my bosses early on in my career, only to get brushed off. Something about being young and an entry level employee. As I advanced to mid level management, I did get acknowledgement and some of my ideas were taken into consideration which prolonged my stay at those companies.

Today with KarGo, I have quarterly meetings with clients and drivers and weekly meetings with the office staff. I realized early on in my career that I wanted to be KarGo to be a place where all my employees, contractors and clients had a voice. It’s only through their opinions that I can see areas in which I need to approve on.

15 Signs of a Toxic Workplace

7. Your gut is telling you something is wrong.

I believe in listening to my gut, as it usually makes more logical sense. Like my previous post with lack of appreciation causing me to leave a sales job. Even when there was a ton of injustice going on and colleagues were leaving. I tried pretending that things will eventually get better. I gave it another six months to the point where it was sickening me to go in to work, give it my all and most likely not win much needed awards if I wanted to advance in the company. My gut knew early on that I was better off with less or equal pay somewhere else that would allow me to flourish.
