๐Ÿšจ MEMORIAL DAY FLOAT TRIPS ARE ON! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŒŠ
The Brazos River Authority is releasing water, which means weโ€™ve got a decent, floatable trip just in time for Memorial Day weekend ๐Ÿ™Œ

The good water release continues making it a great floatable trip for all ages. If it's too cold for tubing for you, take a canoe or kayak while there is no walking or dragging!
Ifykyk - in this area you have to enjoy the water while it's here!

Nor can you EXIT the river on privately owned land along the river.

Do you know who owns the riverbed?

According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), navigable streams are owned by the State of Texas and held in trust for the public, as stated in the Texas Natural Resources Code ยง11.021. If a river is legally navigable, the riverbed up to the ordinary high-water mark belongs to the state. The public has the right to access and use the waterway, even if both banks are privately owned.

The public cannot legally cross private land to reach a river without permission from the property owner. Access must be through a public easement, right-of-way, or a formal access point like a bridge or park entrance. This means that someone floating down the river is fine, but someone crossing private land to get there is likely trespassing.
