Neillsville Municipal Airport

Neillsville Municipal Airport Neillsville Airport (KVIQ) is owned by and serves the City of Neillsville, WI. The first was a private grass strip located on a farm 4 miles west of town.

Neillsville Airport, the only airport with a blacktop runway in Clark County, is the second airport to bear the name. In the early 1970s, the Kurt Listeman foundation offered to help fund a more permanent home for the airport, and the City of Neillsville then purchased several farms in the town of Grant, 4 miles east of the city. Construction on the new airport began in 1972 and was completed in

1973.Today, the airport is home to 25 airplanes and several hangars, and is served by a single runway, 09/27, that is 3400' long.

We will be conducting evening training flights Monday through Thursday this week, April 6 - April 9, shifting our typical daytime flights to the evening, concluding at approximately 10:00 p.m. The training is required to ensure our Airmen's readiness to operate in all conditions, and we will continue to follow flight paths designed to minimize noise to area residents

It is the first full week of the flying hamburgers socials. Unfortunately we also had our first cancelation of the year due to upcoming weather. (Red Wing, MN June 3rd).

There will be an increase in flight activity over central Wisconsin June 2nd - 15th due to the 2025 Sentry North exercise (formerly Northern Lightning) at Volk Field ANGB with F-35s, F-16s, and other military aircraft scheduled to train between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day.

Aircraft flying above 30,000 ft. are authorized by the FAA to operate at supersonic speeds within the Volk Military Operating Area, which may be audible at ground level.

The 115th Fighter Wing of the Wisconsin Air National Guard will be conducting evening training flights Monday through Thursday, May 19-22. During this time, area residents may see or hear F-35 aircraft operations until approximately 10:30 p.m. Training flights normally take place during daylight hours, but pilots and maintenance personnel are required to conduct nighttime operations as a part of their overall readiness. The 115th Fighter Wing greatly appreciates the overall support we have from the citizens of Wisconsin as we train to support our state and federal missions.
