My first thought when seeing this headline was "Ummm, OK, this seems suspect." But after reading the article, I'm intrigued. She didn't build Uber for school buses - she's leveraging AI in a good way to increase efficiency while the safety backbone of school buses is maintained.

Ritu Narayan founded Zum after struggling to find reliable school transportation for her children. Today, her $1.7 billion company is bringing 21st century technology to a stodgy workhorse.

Tomorrow evening could be another display like this from last week:

"A Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled for launch from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. tomorrow evening (March 28). The vehicle is slated to leave south base between 7:30 and 11:24 p.m. PDT and carry 22 Starlink satellites into orbit.

If the vehicle lifts off early in the launch window, a large portion of the southwestern U.S. and northwest Mexico could be treated to an interesting display as the rocket's exhaust is illuminated by the Sun at high altitude while suspended against a dusk or night sky."

Installing video cameras (as opposed to event recorders) can be an invaluable loss prevention and driver training tool in any bus. In my expert work, I find video footage will often help me in determining what actually happens, why it happened and who contributed to the incident, making it easier to reach an equitable settlement. From my experience in legal settings, I convinced my employer in my day job to transition from event recorders - which only show the driver and a forward view - to a four-channel DVR system with views forward, interior steps, and both sides of the coach. This has been an excellent tool to coach drivers and to use in class settings (with permission, of course) to show other drivers the consequences from not following safe driving techniques.

Increasing numbers of motorcoach operators are installing video cameras in buses as a tool for training and safety, and to help reduce insurance claims.
