Me and My Red Truck

Me and My Red Truck When you choose Me and My Red Truck as your mover, you are supporting local Nashville artists. The majority of us are Nashville artists, directors and actors.

Me and My Red Truck is a small locally-owned and operated moving company in Nashville. What began as a one-man pick-up truck gig as a means to support the owners acting habit, quickly grew into a four-man box truck moving company. When you choose Me and My Red Truck for your moving needs you are supporting the Nashville artistic community!

Has anyone seen Sawyer!?

Owning a business is a never-ending loop. From the second I swing my legs out of bed to the moment my head hits the pillow, my small business is the sole focus of my day. When the business is booming, the leads are coming in and the schedule is full, everything seems to just make sense. There is this purpose to each day. And yet, we don't live to work. After twelve years of running a successful company, the parts of me that were hidden came to the surface. My dedication to the business shifted into my addiction. My life, my mood and my self-worth depended on that next lead, the next customer. I felt like I could only look ahead to the next one. I failed to see until the darkness took hold that I was feeding this addiction. I wasn't enjoying the day. The process of moving wasn't enjoyable, I wasn't appreciating the fellowship of my crew, I wasn't even aware of my own self-care. And then at the lowest point one can get, I made the decision to seek help. I entered residential treatment in Arizona and then continued mental health therapy in Nashville. I've learned to advocate for myself. I learned self-compassion. I learned about my trauma. I learned about how my brain works, the window of tolerance and skills to better emotionally regulate. I've made incredible bonds with others and look forward to strengthening relationships with family and friends. I've learned that work is what I do; not who I am.
