On May 9th of 2022, Molly’s Marine Service is looking forward to celebrating 13 successful years in the Marine Service Industry in Collier County. For those of you who don’t know, Molly’s Marine Service is located in downtown Old Naples, on the west side of the Naples bay, nestled into the specifically designed boatyard directly in the center of the Naples Boat Club. For those of you who do know, you are also aware of the lawsuit that has dominated our world for the last 4 years.
Naples Boat Club is primarily a conglomerate of marine businesses, i.e. dry stack storage, Ship’s Store, Boat Repairs, Boat Sales, etc., designed to offer the Public access to the waterfront and marine related services needed to support public boating activities. We offer haul out and launch, bottom painting, running gear and assorted mechanical repairs and services. A minimal number of residential condominium units were added to the mix with the intention of drawing in people interested in the boating community and lifestyle.
Unfortunately, having existed on this property throughout the development and witnessing the growth over the last 22 years, this communing of lifestyles and interests has had unforeseen consequences that have the distinct possibility of changing the picture of boating in the Naples community well into the future. If the residential plaintiffs are successful in the lawsuit to shutdown Molly’s Marine Service, Naples will loose one of the last two local boatyards left offering deep water access and haul out capabilities in Southwest Florida. The trial regarding this matter is scheduled to be heard in the Collier County Courthouse in at the end of January or beginning of February, 2022. The exact trial date is pending, I will let the public know when the trial will be taking place. I want to thank so many of you that have stood with Molly’s over the years and supported us through this legal battle. We are coming close to the end and with your support and prayers, we will reign victorious and continue to support the boating community of Naples and SWFL well into the future.
I was raised in the boating business my entire working life. I was taught to take pride and believe in whatever it is I do. I was also taught to leave things better than I found them. These are principles that I take very seriously and I hope that people who really know me, know how seriously I take this responsibility. I am not only a business owner, I am a member of this community and I have worked diligently to improve the quality of boating in the Naples Community.
Hopefully, there will be many more successful years ahead for Molly’s Marine Service!
