Preparing for hurricane season means taking proactive steps before a storm ever arrives. ⛈️

At Naples Airport, we’re continuing to invest in long-term resiliency projects, including raising portions of our airfield lighting system to help reduce the risk of flood-related damage.

Last August, we invested in Tiger Dam flood barriers, designed to help protect critical airport infrastructure from storm surge and flooding.

Emergency preparedness is also about training. Last year, we conducted an FAA-required full-scale emergency response exercise that brought together nearly 30 first responders and partner agencies from Collier County and the City of Naples to strengthen coordination, communication and readiness during an emergency.

As we commemorate Military Appreciation Month, we’re honored to share a glimpse of our historic origins as the Naples Army Airfield (NAAF). 🪖🎖️

Once a basic flight training base for the U.S. Air Force during World War II, fighter pilot and aerial gunner cadets prepared to take off for the first time right here in Naples, Florida along the Paradise Coast.

Helping defend heavy bombers on long-range missions behind enemy lines, NAAF’s flexible gunnery training program played a key role in supporting our nation’s efforts.

Naples Airport was proud to host the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Certified Member (C.M.) Review Course this week in partnership with the Florida Airports Council. ✈️

The C.M. designation recognizes airport professionals with broad knowledge of airport operations and a commitment to safety, efficiency, and career growth in aviation management. Participants spent the week learning through interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities as they prepared to earn this prestigious credential.
