Harvest is officially wrapped up and the leaves are starting to change. Pretty soon the entire valley will be a sea of gold, auburn, and maroon, and for a lack of better words, it’s insane. We’re big fans of soaking it all in, so we thought we’d share our favorite spots for you to do just that:
📍Yount Mill Road (pictured)
This one will be a morning to remember. Grab breakfast at and head north. Drop the car off and head out on foot, and before you know it you’ll be winding your way through the vines - go early enough and you’re liable to see hot air balloons hanging overhead. Bring the dog, bring the kids, and start your morning off slow.
📍Oat Hill Mine Trail
Like a little more elevation? Wanna see the big picture? Take Silverado Trail north allllll the way to Calistoga. At Lake County Highway you’ll find a small parking lot and a wooden sign that will start you on the right path. This is a proper hike so make sure you have the right footwear, and definitely pack water (or bubbles, we don’t judge). As you make your way up, you’ll be treated to a sprawling view of Calistoga and the east side of the valley. For a little bonus, head to afterwards for a bite and a bev to recharge - you’ve earned it.
📍Conn Creek Road
Save this one for golden hour. Wrap up an afternoon of shopping in St. Helena, grab a late day pick me up at , and head south on Highway 29. Look for a left turn just past Rutherford Grill and follow this road across a bridge until you hit a fork. Veer right and all of a sudden you’re in the middle of the valley floor surrounded by vines on both sides. Pull off the road to take some photos, or roll the windows down and slow ride through the vineyard. There are no wrong answers here, trust us.
