Job Overview:
We are looking for a truck and trailer mechanic that will work into our Fleet Manager position. The Ideal candidate will have to be experienced in diesel motors and be familiar with class 8 trucks and 53-foot semi-trailers. You will be working with our Fleet Manager, training to take over as Fleet Manager through the next couple of years. Must be driver friendly and be able to handle phones and computers. This is a full time, exempt position. Hours vary but generally an 8-5 position, Monday-Friday with occasional weekends as needed. Mechanic will be located at our new yard off of the sand hollow exit, exit 17.
Key Responsibilities:
• Be able to work various hours depending on need
• Be able to lift 50 pounds with no restrictions
• Handle the cold and hot weather as some jobs will be outside
• Be able to handle driver calls as issues arise
• Computer skills to input data and maintain records
• PM’s/DOT regulations
Qualifications:
• Diesel Mechanic
• Knowledgeable in Cummins, Detroit, and Re**er Diesel motors
• Installation of ELD and camera systems
• Capable of working on Re**ers, Vans, Flatbed and Step Deck trailers
• Familiar with Freightliners and Peterbilt trucks
• Familiar with Utility, Great Dane, Hyundai, and Wabash trailers
• Possess a Class A CDL
• Possess or be able to obtain a Class A medical certificate
• Be able to complete DOT yearly inspections

We are based out of Caldwell, ID and haul to most of the lower 48. We do not regularly do the NE states or NY. If you live in another state other than Idaho we encourage you to apply, (i.e. if you are on a main highway I80 we can more easily accommodate the home time you need).
