Floyd Newcomb’s 3 daughter’s now handle daily operations making them 4th generation in this diversified transportation industry. Floyd, born in 1952 & raised in Muscatine, Iowa has been around trucks his whole life. His father Floyd Sr. operated a dump truck business after serving in WWII as a MP. Bettering his knowledge of transporting while driving a jeep in The European Tour. Floyd Senior’s father Willis Knight started the Newcomb families trucking history around 1928 according to the 1936 US Directory & a circa 1931 photograph of Willis & his son Floyd Sr. hauling the famous Muscatine Island melon. To this day Newcomb Warehouse transports produce weekly to help support the Midwest's food & commercial freight needs. In January of 1997 trucking was added to the operations with the acquisition of F.W. Newcomb Trucking, Inc Est. 1976. In November of 2008, we moved into our brand new facility on an 18 acre parcel that is located off Hwy 61 South in Muscatine. We currently dispatch approximately 21 power units and several owner operators. We have a 48-state authority, transporting general commodities with 53' dry vans and reefers, totaling over 55 trailers in all. We also operate an in-house brokerage to handle the volume of overflow shipments we are contracted to transport for our shipper base.
