Capers this weekend? 🌊
Two of Charleston’s most unique barrier islands sit just north of Isle of Palms, and both are worth adding to your boating bucket list.
🏝️ Capers Island
Capers is one of the last undeveloped barrier islands in South Carolina. Accessible only by boat, this state-protected preserve is known for its pristine beaches, wildlife, and iconic “Boneyard Beach,” where weathered trees create one of the most photographed shorelines in the Lowcountry. Pack out what you pack in there are no restaurants, stores, or facilities waiting for you here. The perfect place to pull up and beach.
⚓ Boater Tip: Keep an eye on tides, respect no-wake zones, and watch for dolphins, shorebirds, and sea turtles along the way. The journey through the marshes and creeks is just as memorable as the destination.
