Our airport is growing!

The City of Mount Pleasant is expanding its airport!

We’re currently building 8 new T-hangars for smaller planes and one large corporate hangar to help meet demand.

Right now, the airport can house 26 planes — but we still have a waiting list of more than 20. This project will help us keep up with the growing need for hangar space.

The City was awarded $2.6 million in grants from the Iowa DOT and FAA, and contributed $550,000, for a total project cost of $3.15 million. This week, the farm ground around the airport was cleared, and crews began surveying!

This investment will support local aviation and economic growth for years to come!
