🚨 Important Service Update Carroll County Senior Center & Transit 🚨

Due to a scheduled water shut-off, the Carroll County Senior Center will be closed on Tuesday, April 21. At this time, we are unsure when water service will be restored.

Because of this, Transit dispatch will not be available to take calls. However, our drivers will still be operating and providing scheduled rides as normal.

Ride Cancellations or Changes Only:
If you need to cancel a ride or make changes to an existing scheduled ride, please call our on-call phone at 815-973-5142.
(This line is not available for scheduling new rides.)

We will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, April 22.

Carroll County Transit is proud to share that we’ve been awarded a $1,000 grant from the Quad Cities Community Foundation (MCCF) to help provide FREE rides for our community!

What does this mean for you?
If you live in Mt. Carroll, you may be eligible to ride FREE of charge while funds last! This is a great opportunity to try our service for:
✔️ Grocery trips
✔️ Medical appointments
✔️ Work or errands
✔️ Visiting friends & family

✨ New riders are especially encouraged! If you’ve never used Carroll County Transit before, this is the perfect time to give it a try safe, reliable, and right at your door.

We’re excited to support our local students this summer! ☀️

Carroll County Transit is available Monday–Friday from 6 AM – 6 PM to help with transportation to camps, activities, jobs, and more.

🚍 In-County Rides:
Students ride FREE anywhere within Carroll County

🌎 Out-of-County Rides:
• Students 17 & under: $2 each way
• Students 18 & older: $3 each way

➡️ This service is intended for times when transportation is not provided by the school or program.

Our goal is to make sure every student has a way to get where they need to go this summer!

Hey Carroll County guess what?!…it’s that time of again 😁

We’re getting ready for our Pork Chop Fundraiser on June 9th, and we’d love to see you there!

We’ll have drive-up, dine-in, and delivery available, so however you want to grab lunch, we’ve got you covered.

For those who may not know, this fundraiser helps support Carroll County Transit. Last year alone, we provided over 30,000 rides to people in our community, getting them to medical appointments, work, the grocery store, and so much more.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that while we do receive state and federal funding, it doesn’t cover everything. We’re required to come up with a local match, and that’s where things like fundraisers, donations, and community support come in.

That’s why events like this truly matter; they help us keep our vehicles on the road and continue serving the people who rely on us every day 💙

This will be our only pork chop fundraiser this year. We’ve always done one in the spring and one in the fall, but moving forward we’re going to switch to just one annual event.

So if you’ve come in the past or have been meaning to stop out, this is the one to make it to 💙

Exciting opportunity coming next week!

The Capture Carroll County Spark Grant Program is opening applications starting April 15.

This program is designed to support local events, businesses, and initiatives that drive tourism and strengthen our local economy.

Here’s what you need to know:
• Up to $5,000 per event or business
• $10,000 total funding available
• Only a 25% match required (cash or in-kind for 501c3 organizations)
• 50% advance payment available upon signed agreement
• Reimbursement-based funding

Who can apply:
Businesses, non-profits, municipalities, and event organizers in Carroll County. Eligible projects include tourism events, marketing initiatives, new experiences, facility improvements, and capital investments.

Important dates:
Application window: April 15 – June 1, 2026
Award notifications: Within 21 business days after the deadline
