Hey drivers, we cannot be going down the road bald headed. Part of the pre-trip is keeping a clean truck, because DOT will not mess with you as much when your equipment looks sharp.

Do not forget the trailer. Make sure your wires are not loose, your hookups and connections are intact, and your landing gear works and goes all the way up. Check your tires, check your wheel hub grease, and make sure you have mud flaps, because DOT is looking for those.

Every single light on that trailer should be working, and if your ABS light is on, get it to a shop. Pre-trip your trailer too. It matters, and so does your CDL.
