Realtors and Community Members Deliver More Than Homes—They Deliver Hope
In real estate, success is often measured in closings, contracts, and keys exchanged. But every so often, a moment comes along that reminds us our true impact goes far beyond property lines.
Recently, the Morgantown Board of Realtors had the privilege of donating $3,000 to Morgantown Area Meals on Wheels, an organization that exemplifies what it means to care for a
community.
Led by the dedicated Kath Molinar, Morgantown Area Meals on Wheels has been a quiet but powerful force in the region since 1973. Each week, their network of volunteers ensures that
nearly 120 residents, many of them seniors or individuals with disabilities, receive not only a hot meal, but also a meaningful human connection. With nearly 23,000 meals served last year alone,
their work is both expansive and deeply personal.
From a Realtor’s perspective, “home” is more than a structure, it’s a place of comfort, dignity, and security. For many Meals on Wheels clients, the simple act of receiving a meal at their doorstep helps preserve that independence. It allows them to remain in the homes and neighborhoods they love, even when daily tasks become more challenging.
That’s why supporting organizations like Meals on Wheels aligns so closely with the mission of local Realtors. We don’t just help people find homes, we help sustain the communities that make those homes meaningful.
Of course, this effort doesn’t happen on its own. It takes a village, and there’s plenty of room for more community champions to step in.
Residents who want to get involved have several meaningful ways to contribute. Volunteering time is one of the most impactful ways to help, whether it’s assisting with meal preparation or
delivering along one of the established routes. Financial donations are also vital to ensuring meals remain affordable and accessible to those who need them most.
Additionally, community members can support the cause by donating non-perishable goods. These can be dropped off during Meals on Wheels business hours or to Collection boxes, located
in the hallway of the Seneca Center at the ramp entrance. All items gathered will be delivered to Meals on Wheels with the help of Central Van Lines throughout the summer, helping to keep
shelves stocked and meals consistent.
Looking ahead, the organization is also planning the installation of a Blessing Box in the near future, an accessible, community-supported resource where neighbors can give what they can
and take what they need. It’s another meaningful step toward strengthening food security and supporting local residents with dignity and care.

In a competitive and fast-paced housing market, it’s easy to focus solely on transactions. But moments like this serve as a powerful reminder: strong communities aren’t just built, they’re supported, nurtured, and sustained by people who care. In Morgantown, that spirit of giving is clearly right at home.
