Colorado Tribute to Aviation at Montrose Regional Airport

Montrose County, Colorado is home to the famed Black Canyon National Park, world-renowned Olathe sweet corn crop, and more recently, the signature event known as Tribute to Aviation. Building on the success of the last five years Tribute to Aviation is now rebranding to Colorado Tribute to Aviation. It will return to the Montrose Regional Airport in 2020. The free public event is being held on September 19 and 20th to promote aviation/aerospace and the capabilities of Montrose Regional Airport.

Unlike other aviation events, Tribute to Aviation is an aircraft static display event, meaning visitors have the opportunity to tour specialized aircraft from throughout the country and interact with pilots and aircrew providing a great weekend of family fun. One unique element of Tribute to Aviation is the large number of military aircraft and personnel in attendance.

Static Displays are non flying aircraft. You can tour the inside of a massive cargo transport, examine various types of helicopters, training aircraft, experimental planes and more! You can visit with the pilots and crew of the planes and get an autograph.

Montrose Regional Airport is your “Your Runway to Recreation”. Montrose Airport lies at the base of Colorado’s majestic San Juan Mountains, 300 miles southwest of Denver. We are just minutes from spectacular hiking, fishing, camping, golf, skiing, theaters, museums, hotels, and of course, delicious Colorado cuisine.
