- Review TSA tips for traveling with families and packing checked and carry-on baggage at TSA.gov.

- Arrive early to the terminal so you're not feeling rushed at security screening, have time for a coffee or favorite beverage, and to grab a good read or a nice present at our gift shop.

- Monitor travel advisories posted by MRY, your destination airport, and airline.

- Travelers living close to the airport may wish to use a taxi or rideshare service (or ask a friend to drop off) to keep parking spaces open for those traveling to MRY from farther distances.

MRY METAMORPHOSIS! 🦋 Our replacement passenger terminal is going vertical, with steel columns and beams being erected this week. Airport users and passersby can now see the structure rise from the ground.

ICYMI!👀 United Airlines is increasing service to Monterey Regional Airport with a new route and more seats. Here's the deets:

· Nonstop service to Chicago's O’Hare International Airport (ORD) starts May 23rd, operating Boeing 737-800.
· Daily upgraded service (more seats*) with United's 737-800 to LAX.
· Beginning May 21st, United will upgrade service (more seats*) to DEN with Boeing 737-800.

*Approximately 90 more seats per flight when compared to previous service!

Lord Vader made an unannounced visit earlier today to MRY! ✨

With a lineup of Imperial TIE Fighters behind him, he took a moment to check on the progress of Project Metamorphosis—the future home of our replacement terminal.

Reports say he found it… “acceptable” (which, coming from him, is basically a glowing review).

No Force tricks required, just a lot of hard work and a grand vision for what’s ahead.

We’re building something impressive—fully operational, Summer of 2027.

As we continue to celebrate our 85th year, we can't help but to think back to the airline that has been with us since the beginning. Do you know what year United Airlines began service at MRY? Find the answer in the comments!

HINT: United actually began operations at MRY before the Monterey Peninsula Airport District was formed in 1941.

MRY METAMORPHOSIS! 🦋 Crews continue roadway construction at the entrance to MRY. Keeping drivers and their passengers, and construction personnel safe is a priority for the project.

Motorists are asked to slow down, stay alert, and use caution in our "cone zone," which is located along Highway 68, Olmsted Road, and Garden Road. Complying with flagger personnel regulating and directing traffic and roadway signage and markings will help keep everyone safe. Thank you!
