MRY METAMORPHOSIS 🦋: During the recent Dusty Shoes Tour of our replacement passenger terminal, rather than asking guests to pardon our dust we asked them to embrace it and even take a little home in their shoes.

We shared construction progress on the terminal, showed what travelers and employees will experience when it opens in summer 2027, and heard our community's positive feedback about the future of travel at MRY.

MRY METAMORPHOSIS 🦋: We hit the brakes on our roadway construction project during Car Week to keep traffic moving through the airport and surrounding roadways. We're now back to putting the pedal to the metal to complete the roadway improvements in time for the year-end holidays.

Please help us keep construction crews and drivers and their passengers safe by observing these tips:

🚧 Slow down, stay alert, and use caution in our ""cone zone,"" which is located along Fred Kane Drive, Olmsted Road, and Garden Road

🚧 Comply with flagger personnel regulating and directing traffic and roadway signage and markings, and

🚧 Plan to arrive to MRY at least 90 minutes before flight departure time for on-time boarding.

Check out the MRY Team's latest progress in completing the mass timber* installation. Over the course of a month, 288 pieces of sustainably-sourced timber was lifted into place, allowing airport users and passersby to visualize the architecture and layout of MRY's future gateway.

METAMORPHOSIS MONDAY 🦋: Travelers using our permanent Long-Term Parking Lot, which remains under construction, will experience another shift in spaces and sections beginning August 21st.

🚧 New parking spaces will open in the lot

🚧 Parking spaces in the interim Long-Term lot will close permanently by 9/20/26

🚧 One route will be available for all customers to exit and pay for parking

Signage and wayfinding markings will direct customers to the parking exit. Please use caution while driving and moving through the lot. Areas marked as unavailable should not be used.

We're all geared up for Monterey Car Week, our community's annual, world-class celebration that attracts car enthusiasts from places near and far.

Between August 7-16, there will be more people, planes, pets, and vehicles visiting our warm and welcoming peninsula.

Please plan ahead, pack your patience, and add more time for getting to the airport, around, or out of town while our beautiful region is the focus for the Car Week events.

MRY METAMORPHOSIS 🦋: As we continue to open spaces and sections in the Long-Term Parking Lot, we remind travelers what to expect this summer:

- Park only in designated open spaces/sections and observe all safety signage and markings

- Shuttle service is offered temporarily between the lot and the passenger terminal during peak travel periods

- Orange "SHUTTLE" flags located in the lot and at the terminal's 2nd floor entrance mark the shuttle pick-up/drop-off areas

- Travelers planning to use the shuttle should arrive early to the lot for on-time airline check-in and boarding.

- To learn more about our current shuttle service or to schedule a pick-up; please call Republic Parking at (831) 373-8287.
