Two years ago, I began the adventure of a lifetime… crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a 39ft sailboat with a three person crew.
Since then, life has changed in ways I've never imagined. I’ve transited the Panama Canal, captained a catamaran charter in the British Virgin Islands, and crewed on boats to the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, the San Blas Islands, and twice to Turks and Caicos.
At 61 years old, I’m honestly amazed at what I’ve accomplished in just two years. And here’s the thing- whatever dream is in your heart can happen for you too, no matter what your age. With determination, hard work, and the courage to take the first step, anything is possible.
Forget your age and follow your dreams!

Once upon a time, it was my dream to drive the Virginia Dare as a 50-ton captain. But you know how it goes—make plans, and God laughs.
Now, as a 100-ton captain, life has opened doors in places I never imagined. This fall, we’re moving to Lake Havasu, Arizona where I will drive the big boat—aboard the Tecopa, a 165-passenger casino ferry.
Life is good… especially when it’s built on hard work, determination, and grit.

EPIC day! My brother came to visit and joined me for a ride on my new boat. Captain Steve invited us into the cockpit for a behind-the-scenes tour—and even commented that he’s "TRYING TO RECRUIT JUDI."
Honestly? He had me at "Hello."
