For the past 2 years, Vincent Eaton has been making a difference in Zone 1! Vincent is the kind of team member every transportation department needs. When a route needs to be covered or an extra hand is needed, Vincent is willing to step up and help keep things moving. His willingness to fill in wherever he is needed helps take some of the pressure off his fellow drivers and keeps our students’ transportation needs a priority. Vincent understands that teamwork is more than just driving a route; it’s about being there for one another and doing what it takes to keep the department running smoothly. His flexibility and commitment make him someone the team can depend on when the unexpected happens.

Please join us in recognizing Deborah “Debbie” Parker for her outstanding dedication, flexibility, and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty! Debbie is a seasoned school bus driver who serves Semmes Middle School and Mary G. Montgomery High School as a dual-route driver. In addition to her regular routes, she also handles a vocational route in between her scheduled runs, demonstrating her commitment to helping meet the transportation needs of our students. When the Zone 2 supervisor calls Debbie for assistance, she is always willing to step up and help. Whether the need is at a middle school, high school, or elementary school, Debbie is ready to lend a helping hand. Her flexibility and willingness to assist wherever she is needed make her a valuable asset to the MCPSS Transportation team. Debbie exemplifies what it means to be a team player. She understands that school transportation takes cooperation, dependability, and a shared commitment to serving our students. Her willingness to take on additional responsibilities and support other routes reflects a true dedication to the mission of MCPSS Transportation. Debbie has been serving with MCPSS Transportation since August 7, 2006, bringing 20 years of experience, dedication, and commitment to our transportation team. As a seasoned driver, she continues to demonstrate what it means to go above and beyond the call of duty. Her willingness to assist with middle school, high school, and elementary routes whenever the Zone 2 supervisor calls make her an invaluable asset to our department. From her dual routes at Semmes Middle School and Mary G. Montgomery High School to her vocational route, Debbie consistently demonstrates flexibility, dependability, and a true team-player spirit.

Please join us in celebrating Jenny Smith, a seasoned school bus driver whose dedication, dependability, and commitment to MCPSS Transportation make her an invaluable member of our team! Jenny has been serving with MCPSS Transportation since March 26, 2008. With years of experience under her belt, she continues to demonstrate what it means to be a dedicated transportation professional. As a dual-plus driver serving Semmes Middle School, Mary G. Montgomery High School, and Allentown Elementary School, Jenny takes on multiple responsibilities while ensuring students have reliable transportation. She also willingly steps in to substitute for other drivers whenever needed, always ready to lend a helping hand without hesitation. Jenny has earned a reputation as one of our go-to drivers because of her flexibility, reliability, and willingness to support the team. Her excellent attendance throughout her years with Transportation further reflects her professionalism and dedication to her responsibilities. Experienced drivers like Jenny are an essential part of keeping our department running smoothly. Her years of service, strong work ethic, and team-first attitude exemplify the commitment it takes to serve our students and schools.

💙💛 ZONE 6 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: LYNN HOVEN! 💛💙
Today, Zone 6 would like to shine a very special spotlight on Lynn Hoven, who has dedicated 15 years to MCPSS. Lynn is one of those people who doesn’t just show up to do a job—she shows up because she genuinely cares about our students, her coworkers, and the work we do. Recently, Zone 6 had a student missing after hours, and Lynn immediately showed just how big her heart is. Without being asked, Lynn left her home and went to the school bus to get a copy of the roster for the driver so that everyone had the information they needed. While she was there, she also started the bus for her supervisor so the video could be downloaded as quickly as possible to assist MCPSS personnel and first responders in their efforts to locate the student. She didn’t do any of this because she had to. She did it because she cares. ❤️ And that is Lynn. She is also our go-to person for new drivers in Zone 6. Lynn takes the time to help new employees learn their routes, answer questions, and feel welcomed. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, and she does it with a kindness and patience that makes a difference. After 15 years, Lynn continues to show us what dedication and teamwork really look like. She is the kind of employee every supervisor hopes to have on their team. Lynn, thank you for always being willing to step up, help out, and look out for our students and your coworkers. Your heart for this job and the people around you does not go unnoticed. Zone 6 is truly better because you are a part of it! 💙💛

Your willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty has not gone unnoticed. Day after day, you have shown reliability, patience, responsibility, and genuine dedication to your work and your team.

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Mr. Payton Troup, and let me just say… this man is an absolute GEM! 🚌💎 Mr. Troup is always willing to go above and beyond for Zone 4, and his flexibility and willingness to help are exactly what teamwork is all about. When we need someone to step up, Payton doesn’t hesitate. He is dependable, hardworking, and always ready to do whatever he can to help keep things moving. And if you know Mr. Troup, you know he’s also a ham to be around! 😂 He brings a great personality to the team and somehow manages to make even the busy days a little more enjoyable. Today we’re shining the spotlight on Robbie Stockton, and if you know Robbie, you know he is truly a breath of fresh air around Zone 4! 🚌😊 Robbie is always willing to help out, whether it’s helping the zone or jumping in to lend a hand to one of his coworkers. He brings such a positive attitude to work and somehow always manages to see the bright side of even the craziest situations. And trust me, around here, we have plenty of those! 😂 Robbie is dedicated to his students and genuinely cares about them. He shows up every day ready to do his part, and his willingness to help others makes a difference to our entire team. Robbie, thank you for being YOU! I would like to recognize one of the strengths of Zone 6. Chrissy Walley is an outstanding employee who is very conscientious about her job. Chrissy is a humble employee who works hard and diligently to ensure that Zone 6 succeeds in every way possible.
Chrissy is the first to ask, “How can I help?” when a problem arises with drivers, school staff, or any of MCPSS employee. Chrissy is assiduous employee who reflects the MCPSS motto:
Learning Today and Leading Tomorrow. Chrissy has been eager to learn everything about her job and any task she is assigned since day one. During training for her position Chrissy took everything she was taught seriously, and it shows because her work ethic is impeccable and she consistently meets the needs and goals of MCPSS and the Transportation Department . Lastly, Chrissy is the epitome of what MCPSS looks for in an employee so please help me celebrate and congratulate Chrissy Walley.
