Aviation Explorer Post 1903 and the Lee’s Summit EAA Chapter 91 are hosting a Young Eagles flight day on April 25. Students ages 8-17 can sign up for free flights located at Columbia Regional Airport's Hanger 120. Aviation Explorers will be marshaling and serving a pancake breakfast.

The Airport is hiring! If you enjoy aviation, working outdoors, and meeting new people, this role offers a unique chance to be part of the airport community.

Key Responsibilities:
Fueling and moving aircraft
Performing routine maintenance of office and grounds (including mowing)
Inspecting airport infrastructure and lighting systems
Serving as cashier for customer transactions

Position Details:
Average of 80 hours per month
Work on a set schedule coordinated with two other staff members
Opportunity to work in a dynamic environment around aircraft and travelers

Oshkosh air traffic heading south started early today to beat the incoming weather. By noon the airport had 20 refuelings in addition to heavy spray plane activity.

Our first flights headed to north to for EAA - The Spirit of Aviation are starting to arrive today. Moberly's Airport is a stopover point for pilots to get gas, have lunch or spend the night on their way Oshkosh, WI. We never know what might drop by!

This Howard DGA15P, flown by Kiman & Judy Kingsley, was built in 1943. Originally an air ambulance, it served 6 years in Europe, picking up pilots who were shot down over Axis airspace. It could hold a pilot, flight nurse, and two stretchers.
