1,042,652 TEUs in one month. The Port of Los Angeles just had the busiest month in its 118-year history. 🌎

September topped the July 2025 record by more than 20,000 TEUs. Empty containers hit a record too, about 371,000 TEUs. Empties have to be repositioned, and that is drayage work.⏰

What comes next is an open question. The U.S.–China trade truce runs to Jan. 10, four weeks before Lunar New Year. Shippers could move early again. NRF expects national imports to ease after October.
