Hey everyone. Justin Lien and I had a blast at the Valley RC Fun Fly last weekend. I can’t wait to tell everyone on Tuesday at our next club meeting about our experience flying in the air show. It was such a beautiful sunny day with unlimited ceiling, a cloudless sky, not too hot, 55 registered pilots, a huge crowd of spectators, good food, lot of planes of all types. The air show was well organized with several events which gave everyone a chance to fly and show off their skills. This club really knows how to put on an event. We plan on going again next year! Here’s a cool video of some night flying under a full moon.

What an amazing Fun Fly we had in June. Here's some videos from the event to give you an idea of what took place.

Larry Hanson took this video of five home built planes I think they call “flying W”. They are wild flying planes and don’t mind the wind. Check out this gaggle on a stormy evening at the fun fly last week.

Here’s a few aerial pictures of the flying field last Saturday. What a great turnout we had! Notice the number of RVs! Also notice the two new buildings Russ built for us this year. A new, larger hangar and a nice restroom/shower house just in time for our first fun fly of the season. These buildings have red roofs easy to spot in the photos.

My vision cleared up enough to allow me to fly an Apprentice at the fun fly on Saturday. The flights were short due to the large number of planes in the sky at times.the last time I flew was really short. As I was looking up at my plane I could see something happening on the ground to my left. It was a group of nine EDF jets forming up for a gaggle. I wasn’t about to get caught in that chaos to I landed as quick as possible. Here’s a video of the gaggle.

I had a good eye exam today. All good news. The implant is secure and healing is progressing normally. It’s ok to drive, walk my dogs, do light recreation like flying RC planes. For the next two weeks the main thing is to stay out of dusty environments such as mowing the lawn. Aw shucks! I must wear wrap around sunglasses outside and keep to my schedule of eye drops 4x daily. And of course no swimming or hot tubs. I can live with that.
