Are you going to vote? Do you want to vote in person? There are a few options available to you. Right now there are two places where you can cast an early vote: 980 E. Hennepin Ave. and the Government Center at 300 S. 6th St. Hours are 8am-4:30pm weekdays. Closed weekends and Indigenous Peoples' Day (Oct. 12). On Oct. 27 two more polling places will open: 2100 Plymouth Ave. N. and 3435 36th Ave. S. Hours are 7am-6pm weekdays, 9am-4pm Saturday, noon-5pm Sunday and 7am-5pm Monday, Nov. 2. On Election Day you have to go to your designated polling site. It's important to vote this year because MN is a toss-up state (in spite of having gone for the Democratic candidate in every election since Jimmy Carter first ran (I guess we learned our lesson with Richard Nixon)). This is also the year that new voting districts are drawn, so having your preferred party in the State Legislature is important. And if you're left of center, maybe you've figured out what those right of center have known for the last 40 years. Presidents nominate federal judges and Supreme Court justices. Have I convinced you to exercise the right that plenty of people have killed and died to attain? Are you stranded at home and in need of a ride to your polling site? Do you think I'm about to offer you a free ride (all tips will be given to a homeless person) to your polling site? Well, you're right! But don't call our dispatch line. Instead, call my personal number so we can set up a time that works for both of us. Jeff: 612-360-3122 Please don't call between 10pm and 7am because I sleep.

Having observed the to's and fro's of our business days and coming to a fuller understanding of the seriousness of the public health crisis, we've decided to limit our operating hours to 8am-8pm. We will also be limiting our trips to essential travel only. That means work, doctor's appointments, and transportation hubs. If you need to get to work or a transportation hub outside of those hours, be sure to give us a call when we're operating and we'll make sure you get picked up. Take care and use your down time wisely. I look forward to witnessing the Minneapolitan Renaissance that results from this nonsense.

Hey everybody. We'd like to let you know that we're still in operation. With restaurants, bars, etc. being closed and trips to the airport at a virtual stand still, we don't expect to be making a living for a while, but you've been loyal to us, so we're returning the favor. We know you still have appointments to make and groceries to buy. We also know that not all of you are temporarily out of work. Also, if you need a twelve pack or a pack of smokes or a box of Lucky Charms, let us know and we'll grab it for you for a nominal fee. We're living in some pretty bizarre times and it's up to those of us who can to step up for those of us who need to hunker down for awhile. For the time being, we're going to be stepping up. We'll let you know right here if anything changes. Take care of your beautiful selves.

Howdy folks. I'd like to extend a sheepish mea culpa to anyone who called this morning and received a very terse "we're running an hour and a half right now". Please know it had nothing to do with how I feel about you. Rather, it was the somewhat stressful morning that was the result of near frictionless streets, combined with the high volume of calls that comes from Metro Transit pulling its buses off the road and the civic minded Uber and Lyft charging people $45 to go 2 miles. As always, your business and loyalty are appreciated.

Dear Citizens,
Election day is Tuesday, November 6. Are you going to vote? Do you need a ride? Give me a call! I'm not working that day, but I will happily give you a ride to the polls. I won't charge you anything and I won't accept tips. (If you force a tip on me I'll throw it out the window. I'm not kidding. No, wait! I’ll give it to somebody at the homeless encampment!) Democrat, Republican, Green, Socialist, Communist, whatever the pro-pot party is called now, Libertarian, Maoist, Michelle Bachmanist, Dadaist (especially Dadaists), Dentist, Hermaphrodite, Hermetically Sealed, etc., etc. I don't care. What I most want is for you to vote. Call me anytime (or text, which is better because talking sometimes stresses me out) twixt now and then to set up a time for me to pick you up. 612-360-3122. I'll pick you up in the familiar 24/7 car and we'll all feel like civic heroes.
Love and Kisses, Jeff
