Rain at Disney? It’s All Part of the Magic! 🌧️
Yes, that’s us in ponchos with a newborn and a toddler, making the most of a rainy Disney day! The reality is, rain is common at Disney, but with the right preparation, and the right mindset, it can still be a magical experience.
And yes… nursing a newborn in the middle of a thunderstorm, surrounded by a circle of very polite male security Cast Members doing their best not to make eye contact? That’ll humble you real quick. But honestly, those are the stories you remember.
Here are a few tips to help you stay comfortable and keep the fun going:
✔️ Pack ponchos for the whole family (don’t forget stroller covers & don’t make our mistake - make sure you know how to attach it before the rain hits, not after)
✔️ Waterproof shoes or extra socks and clothes that dry quickly! Think athleisure for the whole family!
✔️ Keep a compact towel in your park bag for drying off seats!
✔️ Enjoy the lighter crowds! Rain often means shorter wait times & less crowded entertainment!
✔️ And above all: embrace the moment. A positive attitude goes a long way, especially with little ones in tow!
Rain is part of the Disney experience — but with a little planning and flexibility, it can lead to some of your favorite memories.
💡 Pro Tip: Rainy season (typically late summer and early fall) often comes with fewer crowds, great promotions, and better resort availability, making it one of the best times to get more magic for your money! With a little planning, it can be the most rewarding time to visit. ✨
