Happy New Year! Exciting winter morning at the High Lonesome. We got 2 inches of rain since last night. Now we have two inches of snow. Crazy! This is the first time we’ve seen the arroyo run on the north 30 acres. We’ve heard that this creek pulled a truck all the way to Johnson Lane one year! I’ve always wanted river front property! Hahaha! Also… I think we have a badger “sett”-ing up residence by the chicken coops. Wish I took a picture before the snow started. Won’t be a pretty scene if the dogs try to play with it!

Good morning from the High Lonesome! Summer is here, and Kelly’s yucca is in full bloom again. The runway is looking good, the baby chickens are in their new coop (but the rest of the ranch is a mess!) The next big push is to finish building the full sized solar system.

Nice quick surprise visit this afternoon from Mario. The windsock went from limp to horizontal on the crosswind as soon as he departed.

We have a lot of fun friends fly by or land here, but this was the first time we had a radio-controlled airplane guy come and use the runway!

One of my Sage Egger’s laid the first funky egg of the season… barely bigger than a thimble. I did crack it into a frying pan this morning, but it didn’t have a yolk. Kinda creeped me out, so I didn’t post a pic of that.
