How to dress on a yacht?
Spoiler alert â you wonât get perfect solutions from anyone until you figure them out for yourself. Besides, the choice of clothes depends on many variables. Weâll share those options that will be a win-win choice for you regardless of particular circumstances.
Besides obvious T-shirts, shorts and swimsuits, for you to chill in the sun and enjoy the sea, you should bring a raincoat, a pair of shoes (not sandals!) with white non-slipping soles and a headwear: a baseball cap will do, but feel free to pick a hat if you are of a more stylish type.
Even if you go to a warm region and all forecasts promise heat, be sure to take warm clothes: a fleece, a sweatshirt, a light jacket or anorak â it can be chilly on the water in the evening. In colder regions you will not regret bringing to the boat a set of warm underwear, a thin down jacket and rubber boots, trust us . Bring your pajamas or sweatpants for sleep â yacht cabins are only heated in the northern seas, but pajamas will not hurt there either. Just imagine: a book in your hands, a dim light, a gentle sway, the sound of the sea and comfortable pajamas â what could be more romantic and more comfortable?
Tips from GetBoat.com on what you might also need from accessories department:
Yachting gloves. If you want (and you definitely do) to learn how to sail and participate in races, thereâs no way without gloves â the ropes can burn or otherwise injure your hands.
Cool shades and sunscreen. Even during bad weather, it is easy to get sun-burned on a yacht and there is just no reason not to wear your shades when itâs sunny, right?
Laces for your eyeglasses and phone. Dropping a valuable item overboard may easily spoil an otherwise perfect vacation. A case with a strap for your favorite phone can be ordered online.
Powerbank. Sockets may not work while you are anchored which means no stories on Instagram!
