Friends I have some exciting news to share. Celebrity Cruises is officially building the newest ship in the family and her name is Celebrity Xcite. This is the next ship in the Edge class and she is already turning heads even though she is still at the shipyard in Saint Nazaire France. They cut the very first piece of steel in October of this year and that moment marked the beginning of a ship that is going to take everything we love about the Edge class and raise it even higher.
Celebrity calls Xcite the next step in how they bring modern luxury to life. They are aiming for new ideas in suites and staterooms and fresh experiences in dining music and entertainment. They are keeping the heart of the Edge class but they want Xcite to feel like a new chapter not just another ship. She is planned to launch in 2028 and she is already being talked about in the cruising world as the ship that will shape the future of Celebrity.
If you love Beyond and Apex and Ascent and Xcel then get ready because Xcite is being created to continue that same spirit of calm beauty and elegant adventure. The company says she will be designed to bring guests closer to the ocean and to the destinations in a way that feels even more personal and more immersive.
