Today, at 10:00 a.m., N.W. 20th Street between MacLaughlin Drive and MIA will be permanently closed to support the construction of the new Concourse K. This means that you won't be able to use N.W. 20th Street to enter or exit the airport anymore. We encourage everyone to plan ahead and use alternate routes to reach the MIA South Bus Station and other parts of the airport. Remember to follow detour signs and give yourself a little extra time for your travels. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to make .

We are working with our partners at the Miami Dade Sheriff’s Office regarding a potential security threat at MIA. Out of an abundance of caution, portions of the North and Central Terminals prior to the security checkpoints have been temporarily evacuated.
This situation is also impacting vehicle traffic entering the airport and causing delays on both the arrivals and departures levels.
The safety of our employees and passengers remains our top priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

As the community gathers to watch, expect increased traffic along Le Jeune Rd. and Douglas Rd., especially near airport entrances and exits from 4–11 p.m. Airport travelers—passengers, visitors, and employees—should plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling to or from MIA. A U.S. first is coming to Miami International Airport!

Today, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, along with Director Raph Cutié and special guests, officially unveiled plans for a new, state-of-the-art $33-million Airport Operations Center (AOC) and Digital Monitoring Hub.

Scheduled for completion in 2027, this 13,254-square-foot facility will be equipped with AI-powered long-range cameras, real-time digital tower technology, and a massive HD panoramic video wall, providing 360° visibility of the entire airport for best-in-class security.
